Leather Forming, Applique and Tooling Techniques, by Tony Laier
Date: Saturday, July 30, 2016
Time: 9 am to 4 pm (with one-hour lunch break)
Place: Hatzis Hall, 952 Moss St., Golden, CO
Description: Same as at 2016 Sheridan show, but extended two hours.
Participants will learn and do hands-on leather forming, applique and border treatments on MDF or wood bases. Techniques learned will be used to create a plaque suitable for awards, mounting antlers, hat/coat racks, keepsakes and more. Additional techniques will be demonstrated on tooling border designs and the use of lifters and modeling tools to enhance projects. Coloring options will also be discussed.
Materials to bring:
Swivel knife, small modeling tool, edge slicker (bone, wood, plastic or antler), stylus, cutting mat and B893 style beveler (optional). All other materials will be provided. A 12”-by-18” self-healing cutting mat is preferred, although a 9”-by-12” would work.
Price: Guild members, $70. Others, $80.
